Monthly Q & A: March 2020
I only have one question this month, which is actually surprising being I just started blogging again a few weeks ago.
Q: How do you stay medication compliant?
A: Short answer is I don't. Like most people with serious and persistent mental illness, I struggle with medication compliance. I am about 85-90% compliant. Here is a bullet list of what I do to maintain that.
Q: How do you stay medication compliant?
A: Short answer is I don't. Like most people with serious and persistent mental illness, I struggle with medication compliance. I am about 85-90% compliant. Here is a bullet list of what I do to maintain that.
- I have 4 weekly pill boxes, that have am and pm. Each box has the same colors for each. (When I had some that were not the same, I messed up am & pm too much.
- Even though some of my medications are better served when taken a various times during the day. I work with my Doctors to keep it to a morning and evening regiment.
- I now have Google Home, I have programmed it to give me reminders 1 hour after saying good morning and when I say goodnight.
- I keep my current pill box visible and next to my coffee pot.
- I keep my next does on the outside from my coffee pot. e.g. When I take my morning medications I replace the pill box with the morning color facing the coffee pot.
- I try to fill my pill boxes every 3 weeks. I use my google calendar to remind me. My Google Home also tells me of my appointments and reminders that are on Google Calendar.
